Intermountain PREP identifies sixth-grade students who have an interest and aptitude in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), (targeting low-income, underrepresented communities) and involves them in a three-year summer program as they progress through junior high school.
This seven-week program is hosted on college and university campuses across the Intermountain West. The Intermountain PREP curriculum is comprised of academically demanding, interdisciplinary subject matters that aid in the development of spatial skills.
In addition to delivering a broad STEM education, the course content is designed to provide experiences that promote a clear understanding of how mathematical concepts and procedures are applied in the fields of Engineering and Science.
Intermountain PREP equips students with the academic enrichment skills needed to confidently pursue STEM majors and careers.
